Growing Up in Hamilton in the 70's, the Hilldale Zoo now renamed Hamilton Zoo, was always a place that the schools went to for visits to see different animals and birds. Over the years I started to draw the animals which grew into a passion. little did I know how much of an impact this would have on me as an artist, in the future.
Telecom Art Prize 1996-2009
I entered the Telecom Phone book art prize in 1996, The concept was simple, design a phone book art cover for the Telecom Phone book. The winners artwork to grace your regional phone book for the year. I sent in my painting, along with hundreds of other hopefuls. I made the finals along with 30 other artists My work would be auctioned on an online auction that Telecom had for charities.
